Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg Float

Contract: 13 or 26 Weeks

Schedule: 3x12s | 36 Hours/Week

Shift: Days / Evenings / Nights Rotation

Blended Hourly Pay: $70/hour

Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,512

Weekly Gross: $2,520

Position Overview:

Join URMC – Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY as a Travel RN – Med Surg Float. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Medical-Surgical RN who is confident caring for diverse acute-care patients and comfortable floating between medical-surgical units based on patient and staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and facility protocols.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Monitor vital signs and patient responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.
• Adapt quickly to different Med Surg units and patient assignments.
• Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital policies.
• Provide patient and family education and support.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg RN experience
• Active New York State RN License
• Current BLS Certification
• Recent acute-care Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Comfortable floating within the unit
