Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our patient care team at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital. In this role, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients requiring diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic treatment, and ventilator management. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced acute care environment and demonstrate strong clinical judgment during routine and emergent situations.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document respiratory patient assessments
- Evaluate breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressures
- Conduct diagnostic testing to determine respiratory therapy needs
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy
- Assist with placement of artificial airways
- Initiate, monitor, and manage invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation
- Monitor patient response to treatment and intervene as needed
- Notify physicians/providers of changes in patient condition
- Assist with transport of ventilator-dependent patients
- Respond to emergency airway and resuscitation situations
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with standards of care
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy required
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Current Florida Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 30 days of hire
Preferred Skills
- Strong ventilator management experience
- Critical care or acute care hospital experience preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
- Strong assessment and problem-solving abilities
