About the Job

We are seeking a professional, organized, and upbeat Salon Manager to oversee daily operations at an upscale pet grooming facility. This is a key holder position responsible for opening and closing the salon and serving as the first point of contact for clients and their pets.

The facility provides a clean, professional environment with high-quality grooming equipment and separate areas for cats, bathing/drying, grooming, and client reception. The company places a strong emphasis on customer service, employee development, and continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Manage, train, and support salon staff.
• Exercise unbiased judgment when handling employee management and disciplinary matters.
• Assist with hiring, dismissal, and preparation of incident reports.
• Enforce company policies and procedures.
• Prepare employee and customer schedules.
• Provide customer service in person, by phone, email, text, and social media.
• Operate the register and balance daily transactions.
• Conduct monthly inventory.
• Prepare and make deposits.
• Pick up supplies as needed.
• Check clients in and out.
• Prepare appointment sheets and manage scheduling.
• Communicate with veterinary offices when needed.
• Assist with holding cats and dogs when necessary.
• Perform daily cleaning duties and ensure cleaning standards are maintained.
• Open and close the salon.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must have prior management experience.
• Prior experience with appointment scheduling and customer relationship management.
• Grooming experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good typing and computer skills.
• Professional phone etiquette.
• Professional, positive, and upbeat attitude.
• Self-motivated and dependable.
• Ability to give and follow detailed directions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Non-smoking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
