About the Opportunity:
A highly respected plaintiff-side employment litigation firm is seeking an experienced Senior Complex Litigation Paralegal to join its growing litigation team. This role supports attorneys handling sophisticated employment matters, including wage and hour class actions, representative actions, and complex individual employment cases.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned litigation professional who can manage multiple cases simultaneously, maintain strict deadlines, and support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation. This role also involves supervising junior support staff and serving as a key liaison between attorneys, clients, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support a complex litigation caseload from case inception through trial
- Maintain and track a high-volume litigation calendar, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and filing deadlines across multiple matters
- Prepare, coordinate, and file legal documents in California state and federal courts, including electronic filings and service of process
- Draft and assist with discovery requests, pleadings, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
- Organize and maintain case files, litigation databases, and document productions
- Coordinate depositions, mediations, and hearings with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Prepare exhibits, witness materials, and documentation for depositions, hearings, and trial
- Serve as a primary point of contact for Spanish-speaking clients and provide professional communication in both English and Spanish
Supervise and support one to two legal assistants, including task delegation and quality review
Proactively identify case issues and anticipate attorney needs to ensure efficient case progression.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, with experience in complex civil litigation in California
- Full professional bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
- Strong knowledge of California state and federal court procedures, filing rules, and litigation processes
- Experience managing multiple cases and maintaining deadline-driven litigation calendars
- Hands-on experience supporting all phases of litigation, including filings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience with employment litigation, wage and hour matters, or class actions
- Familiarity with litigation platforms and e-filing systems such as PACER, CM/ECF, or similar tools
- Experience supporting multi-plaintiff or complex litigation matters.
