Senior Counsel

Position Overview

The Senior Counsel will independently manage all aspects of assigned cases—from initial filing through discovery and dispositive motion practice, including summary judgment. This role requires a strategic thinker, strong legal writer, and dedicated advocate for employee rights.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex wage and hour cases, including class and collective actions
• Analyze potential claims and damages during pre-litigation investigations
• Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, class certification motions, and summary judgment briefs
• Oversee discovery, including depositions and FRCP 30(b)(6) matters
• Conduct in-depth legal research under FLSA and California/Washington wage and hour laws
• Serve as the primary client contact and participate in settlement negotiations and mediations
• Collaborate with partners and junior attorneys on litigation strategy

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Active admission and good standing with the California or Washington State Bar
• 5+ years of plaintiff-side employment law experience with a strong focus on wage and hour litigation
• Proven ability to manage complex cases independently
• Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
