Senior CPA

Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Senior CPA to join a growing accounting team. This role is highly client-facing and involves preparing complex tax returns, managing client relationships, reviewing staff work, and mentoring junior team members. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and taking ownership of both technical work and client interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1120-S, 1065, 990)
• Manage and maintain relationships with an assigned client portfolio
• Conduct first-level review of work prepared by junior staff
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members
• Identify tax planning opportunities and communicate recommendations to clients
• Support bookkeeping activities and oversee related financial processes

Required Qualifications:

• Active CPA license in good standing
• 5+ years of public accounting experience
• Strong tax preparation and review skills
• Experience working directly with clients
• Prior mentorship or supervisory experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in small to mid-size public accounting firms
• Knowledge of state-specific tax regulations (e.g., franchise tax, S-corp elections)
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals
• Familiarity with tax software such as CCH ProSystem fx, Lacerte, or Drake
