Location: Remote – Salem, OR

Duration: 12 Months | 09/01/2026 – 08/31/2027

Interview: Microsoft Teams

Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM Pacific Time

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong enterprise Java development experience, extensive J2EE, IBM DB2 UDB, and Eclipse expertise, along with recent State Government experience and hands-on eXPRS application development experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain Java/J2EE applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and production issues.
• Perform application enhancements, refactoring, performance improvements, UI, data, and reporting changes.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, Product Owners, architects, and technical leads.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
• Create technical designs, specifications, documentation, and solution recommendations.
• Work with Azure DevOps (ADOS) for development and issue tracking.
• Perform coding, debugging, testing, and code reviews.
• Support knowledge transfer and provide technical guidance to team members.

Required Skills

• 10+ years Java
• 10+ years J2EE
• 10+ years IBM DB2 UDB
• 10+ years Eclipse
• State Government experience within the last 5 years
• 1–3 years of eXPRS Application Development experience
• Strong Agile/Scrum experience
• Strong application maintenance, troubleshooting, and modernization experience

Preferred

• Government or healthcare application experience
• Azure DevOps (ADOS)
• Enterprise application modernization/refactoring
• Strong communication and technical documentation skills

Important Requirements

• Remote position; candidate must work within the United States.
• Must be available during 8 AM–5 PM Pacific Time.
• Candidate should be able to report onsite in Salem, OR if required.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• This is strictly a Java/J2EE position – NOT a .NET role.
