Seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of accurate cost estimates and competitive bids for heavy civil construction projects in both public and private sectors. The role involves reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating subcontractor pricing, and developing detailed estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.

The Senior Estimator will participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, risk evaluation, and proposal preparation, while collaborating with project teams during preconstruction and construction phases. Responsibilities also include supporting change orders, interpreting estimates, mentoring junior estimators, and contributing to business development efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
10+ years of civil construction experience
3-5 years of experience as a Project Engineer
Multiple project experience as a Project Manager
Experience with various procurement methods (Design-Build, Design Assist, Best Value, Preliminary and Budget estimates)
Experience in other types of civil construction as well as transportation, infrastructure, and specialty (i.e., blasting, demolition, flood control, landfills, pump stations, reservoirs, etc.) is very helpful
Experience estimating earthwork, utilities, and structural excavation projects
Experience with public and private infrastructure projects
Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid / HeavyJob, MS Excel, and construction estimating tools
