Position Overview
Our client, Oregon DHS/OHA, is seeking an experienced Senior Developer to support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and modernization of the eXPRS application.
The selected candidate will work with technical and business teams in an Agile/Scrum environment, handling application enhancements, defect resolution, performance improvements, refactoring, UI improvements, reporting, and ongoing application maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver software code changes and technical documentation for the eXPRS application.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and remediate application defects and bugs.
- Work on operational, enhancement, performance, maintenance, refactoring, UI, data, and reporting requests.
- Participate in daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and Product Owners to understand functional requirements.
- Collaborate with technical architects and technical leads to develop technical designs and solutions.
- Document solution options, system dependencies, impacted areas, and technical gaps.
- Perform code modifications, testing, debugging, and system enhancements.
- Prepare technical specifications covering database, interfaces, batch programs, and application modules.
- Provide regular sprint/status reports and demonstrate working prototypes.
- Follow Azure DevOps (ADOS) and established development, requirements-management, and issue-tracking processes.
- Support knowledge transfer and transition technical concepts and enhancements to existing team members.
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory:
- 10+ years J2EE experience
- 10+ years Java experience
- 10+ years IBM DB2 UDB experience
- 10+ years Eclipse experience
- Prior State Government experience within the last 5 years
- 1–3 years of eXPRS Application Development experience
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Strong Senior/SME-level Java application development experience.
- Experience working with government or healthcare-related applications.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience with Azure DevOps (ADOS).
- Strong experience with application maintenance, enhancements, troubleshooting, and refactoring.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
Work Arrangement
- Remote position
- Candidate must perform all work within the United States.
- Candidate must be available during 8 AM–5 PM Pacific Time business hours.
- Remote onboarding is required on the first day.
- Candidate must provide their own computer, monitors, internet connection, telephone, webcam, and microphone.
- VPN/access to agency systems will be provided.
- Candidate should be able to work onsite in Salem, Oregon within a reasonable timeframe if required.
