Job Title: Senior Plumbing Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: San Francisco, Santa Rosa, or Sacramento, CA
Work Arrangement: There is no regular requirement to work from the office. Employees may work remotely or come into the Sacramento or San Francisco office whenever they choose. The only exceptions are occasional all-staff strategic planning sessions and company events, where in-person attendance may be required. The role may also require travel for client engagements.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Engineer to join a growing engineering team specializing in commercial building design. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing plumbing systems for a variety of commercial and institutional projects and enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of design and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Design plumbing and piping systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers.
- Perform plumbing system sizing and code compliance reviews.
- Support projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
- Conduct site visits and respond to contractor RFIs and submittals.
- Mentor junior engineering staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of plumbing design experience.
- Experience designing commercial building plumbing systems.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and industry standards.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- PE license is a plus but not required.
