About the role

Role Overview:

The Shop Foreman will oversee daily production operations within a high-volume collision repair facility. This role is responsible for managing workflow, ensuring repairs meet OEM standards, maintaining quality control, and delivering vehicles on time. It requires a hands-on leadership approach with a strong presence on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

Production & Workflow Management

  • Oversee daily shop floor operations to ensure efficient vehicle flow from intake through delivery
  • Assign work based on technician skill level and production priorities
  • Monitor cycle times and resolve workflow delays proactively
  • Coordinate with estimators, parts teams, and customer service staff
  • Ensure all repairs meet OEM specifications, company standards, and insurance requirements
  • Work within a structured, technology-driven environment using systems such as CCC and BSC

Quality Control

  • Conduct in-process and final vehicle inspections
  • Ensure compliance with repair procedures, safety standards, and documentation
  • Address and resolve rework or quality concerns promptly

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise body, paint, and prep technicians
  • Provide hands-on guidance and technical support
  • Maintain accountability for productivity and workmanship
  • Enforce policies and performance expectations

Employee Management

  • Review and approve timesheets for accuracy and productivity
  • Manage PTO and vacation requests based on operational needs
  • Conduct performance reviews and support employee development
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training

Parts & Materials Coordination

  • Collaborate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of parts
  • Verify parts before scheduling repairs to avoid delays
  • Monitor material usage and minimize waste

Performance & Reporting

  • Track key performance metrics such as cycle time and efficiency
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and processes
  • Support implementation of operational improvements and new technologies

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in an auto body shop, with 4+ years in a leadership or foreman role
  • Experience in high-volume production environments
  • Strong knowledge of OEM repamarkm9216@gmail.comir procedures and collision repair processes
  • Familiarity with shop management systems (CCC, Mitchell, or similar)
  • Ability to interpret repair plans and technical documentation
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and ability to perform under pressure
  • Valid driver’s license
