Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Location: Crestview, FL – Northwood Elementary

Facility: Okaloosa County School District

Pay: $40–$45/hour

Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Contract: 40 weeks

Responsibilities

• Provide speech and language therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
• Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans and therapy activities.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to support communication and language development.
• Monitor and document student progress and maintain accurate therapy records.
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, parents, and the supervising SLP.
• Support students with articulation, language, fluency, and communication needs.
• Follow school district policies and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.

Requirements

• Active SLPA license/certification as required by the state of Florida.
• Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with children and school staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow treatment plans and work under the supervision of an SLP.
