Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Structural Drafter to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will prepare accurate structural drawings and construction documents for commercial, residential, institutional, industrial, and government projects. Working closely with structural engineers and project managers, the drafter will develop plans, details, and revisions while ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, engineering standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare structural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Produce foundation plans, framing plans, structural details, schedules, and reinforcement drawings.
• Revise drawings based on engineer markups, client comments, and field changes.
• Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines.
• Maintain drafting standards and ensure consistency across project documentation.
• Assist engineers in preparing permit, bid, and construction documents.
• Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
• Organize project files and maintain document control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in project coordination meetings as required.
• Support multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of drafting experience in structural engineering or the construction industry.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience with Revit is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of structural drafting principles and construction documentation.
• Familiarity with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and building codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting commercial, mixed-use, institutional, transportation, or government projects.
• Knowledge of AISC, ACI, IBC, and other applicable structural design standards.
• Experience preparing shop drawings, reinforcement detailing, or precast concrete drawings.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and multidisciplinary project coordination.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Navisworks, or other construction document management software.
