Position Overview

Northside Hospital Atlanta is seeking an experienced Travel Laboratory Assistant to join its Clinical Laboratory team for a 13-week night shift assignment. This role is ideal for candidates with strong phlebotomy and specimen processing experience who thrive in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.

Schedule

• Shift: 8-Hour Nights
• Hours: 1:00 AM – 9:30 AM
• Work Week: Sunday – Saturday
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• On-Call: None

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient and outpatient specimen collection.
• Handle laboratory data collection systems and equipment.
• Ensure laboratory test requests are accurately ordered, canceled, and charged.
• Process, prepare, and distribute patient specimens.
• Support laboratory operations through non-technical specimen processing duties.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency while following laboratory policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Laboratory Assistant experience within the specialty.
• Current Phlebotomy Certification (required).
• Previous travel assignment experience required.
• Strong knowledge of specimen collection and laboratory workflow.

Assignment Requirements

• Travel candidates only.
• No local candidates within 50 miles of Northside Hospital Atlanta.
• Floating is not required.

Overtime

• Daily overtime applies after 24 hours (based on contract multiplier).
• Weekly overtime applies after 40 hours (based on contract multiplier).
