Job Type: Onsite, Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Wood Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining industrial woodworking machinery to produce high-quality wood components that meet precise specifications and production standards. The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing environment, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.


Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

Set up, operate, and monitor industrial woodworking equipment, including CNC routers, panel saws, edgebanders, planers, molders, and sanders.

Adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and product quality.

Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet output goals.


Blueprint & Work Order Interpretation:

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work orders.

Determine proper machine settings, material requirements, and production methods.


Quality Control:

Inspect finished products using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and gauges.

Verify dimensions, tolerances, and overall product quality.

Identify and report defects or inconsistencies and make necessary machine adjustments.


Equipment Maintenance:

Perform routine machine maintenance, including blade changes, lubrication, cleaning, and minor troubleshooting.

Report equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance personnel when necessary.


Material Handling:

Load and unload wood materials and components safely and efficiently.

Organize, label, and prepare finished products for the next stage of production or shipment.

Maintain proper inventory and material flow within the work area.


Safety & Housekeeping:

Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.


Qualifications:

Required Experience:

1–2 years of experience operating industrial woodworking machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with CNC machinery is highly preferred.


Technical Skills:

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and production documents.

Proficiency using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.


Mathematical Skills:

Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including fractions, decimals, measurements, and conversions.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.

Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.


Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
